Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen.
Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11: 1). The life of a believer is one of faith, as defined here, by God. Undeniably, evidence is something that must be seen and therefore this is saying that our faith, as believers, must be visibly seen. The scripture that confirms this is: “faith without works is dead” (James 2:17). Faith is seen when we stand on the word of God, no matter what.
This faith is attacked by people who say, “unless I see it, I won’t believe it.” But here is where I know many people, especially in the field of science, do not really believe this when they say it. Science studies what is seen, in order to understand why it is seen. Bemusingly though, they are seeing it and still do not believe it. More accurately, they should say “unless I understand how the thing I am seeing works or where it originates from and how it will perform, I will not accept it.” During the recent pandemic, this quote echoed the opinion of many persons who did not take the intervention. This was met with disdain by many scientists and doctors, who themselves did not know how it worked, or where it came from or how it will behave, but yet they believed in it. This is where we see that the people who do not acknowledge God, are very inconsistent and double mouthed in their belief. That is not surprising, because it is the Holy Spirit Who gives sound minds. Without Him, the minds can go in many different directions and that is why God sent Jesus to humanity. We were designed by God to have free, sound minds and not confusion.
In more recent times, I am seeing even more glaring evidence of the antipathy of that ideology. A well – publicized 2021event in the United States was in the news for years and was described in a manner that the people behind the news wanted to be conveyed. Admittedly, very little video footage was shown to the public and that which was shown was edited and enhanced to create a movie effect. This was presented as the unquestionable fact and that was it. The public was to accept this as fact and were not to be inquisitive enough to question anything.
Undeniably, this is a case of snuffing out freedom.
Late last year, unedited video footage was released that showed something completely different and they were described as blatant lies whilst the edited versions that were looped repeatedly were called the truth and that is what people must believe. They were told don’t believe the unedited, real – life version, but believe what they have put together for the public instead. I have to emphasize in this context, that people should understand that some leaders have made them out to be complete idiots, without any capacity to think or reason and everything they do undermines the wonderful creation that mankind is and was made to be. So now, once again, even the very thing that is seen, with the natural eyes, are to be considered false. This posits as a conflict to the belief that I mentioned earlier.
Undeniably, this is a case of snuffing out freedom. This is not the work of God, but the work of the devil. Let’s juxtapose this to what God says to see the clearer picture.
God says, “believe Me and what I say and My promises, even when your natural eyes see something else” (definition of faith).
The devil says, through ideologies and political agenda, “Believe me and what I say and present, even when you see something else with your natural eyes.”
Isn’t this classic copy-cat, deceptive, wolf-in-sheep clothing behaviour, innate to the devil’s nature, that diametrically opposes God’s ways?
No one or no animal has breath without God giving them breath.
The difference is, God is Almighty and the devil is defeated and deceitful. He has nothing to offer because he was brought to nothing by Jesus over 2000 plus years ago (Colossians 2:15; Hebrews 2: 14; Revelations 1:18; 1 Corinthians 15: 54 – 57) , so whatever he is ‘presenting’ he stole. God on the other hand promises every good and perfect gift through Jesus Christ and He made all things. No one or no animal has breath without God giving them breath. It is impossible otherwise and no amount of biomedical engineering or artificially crafted system can create a being with life of this nature.
You know, we hear of billions of dollars put into research for advancement of our nations and it sounds very encouraging. We are in the middle of an era, where the results of years of research are made evident. Unfortunately, what is standing out is that the advancement we see is totally opposite to what we expected or is needed. However, people should not just see this as incompetence on the part of the players in the research department.” It is time to wake up and see that people know exactly what they are doing, and are getting the results they set out to put into place. These are deliberate actions. There is a big difference between being ignorant of something and looking foolish about it and being deliberate about doing something to produce a negative result.
I firmly believe and am subject to correction that our leaders and influencers are not ignorant of what they choose for our nations; they are deliberate. Billions of dollars of ‘research’ tells us that. I use research in inverted comma for a reason – you see, scientific research postulates something and then sets out to prove if it is true or not. As an extension, research looks at finding answers to a previously determined problem or the effect of something on another thing, usually intended to be of benefit to humanity. However, what it does not do, is set out to prove that what we believe is right and therefore gather information to make that proof a reality. Such a direction is adversative to true scientific research and should be rejected as well as their findings.
How many decisions and strategies are being made and implemented in our nations based on such research? It propels me therefore, to be strengthened in my resoluteness that we should be trusting only in the One Who created us and Whose ways do not need scientific research to see the evidence of His power and His results.
His faith, which He gave to us (Galations 2:20) confirms it and makes it our reality – our true freedom in Christ.
